Workflow Case Study

A marketing organization serving domestic and international markets was dependent on manual processes to route marketing material- print, video, web, etc. They were ready to move away from current state and replace it with a workflow software solution. The organization applied a custom change management approach to prepare the case for the change, create a change champion network, stakeholder committee, training strategy, communication strategy, adoption efforts and a team to execute the OCM(organizational change management) plan. Through the execution of the OCM plan, dedicated resources and application of OCM, we enabled leaders with change management capabilities. The value of the change network was tremendous, the change network provided recommendations on the training approach, communications and user acceptance testing. According to the 2016 edition of Prosci’s Best Practices in Change Management, the top contributors to change successes are the following:

  • Active and visible executive sponsorship
  • Structured change management approach
  • Dedicated change management resources

The transformation of the organization impacted their roles and responsibilities, social habits at work, morning/afternoon work routines and accomplished the business benefits intended.  It was a tough transition for many and the OCM efforts throughout the project and post-deployment helped the organization move along the transition curve.
